“I never fall apart because I never fall together.”
Aside from the Pittsburgh connection, Andy and I have something in common here. We’re both a work in progress. We’re an interesting dichotomy of “figured my shit out” and “what the hell am I doing”? Well, he isn’t because he’s dead, but you know what I mean.
The great thing about being a work in progress is that you’re always fluid. As long as you keep that passion for what you do alive, you can go wherever you want with it.
Where am I going with this?
I am a writer. I started a blog back in 2009 because I wanted to document the progress of creating a quilt (I was Moda Vivendi back then, a play on Moda fabric). Then I wrote about the peculiar things I encountered in college (under yet another name). Now I’m here, writing about gardening.
Well, kinda. It’s a metaphor. It’s always a metaphor.
I document how I’m cultivating a beautiful life even when it feels like I’m surrounded by a field of weeds. It’s a lifestyle blog for people who hate the term “lifestyle blog.” Call it a life-unstyled blog. And I want you to feel like you can grow where you’ve been planted, regardless of what’s around you.
So why are you reading this?
Maybe you Googled “girl in high heels” and thought you found something hot here. In that case, I hate to break it to you, but you came to the wrong place.
I write for people who don’t mind getting a little dirt on their shoes. You embrace the mess. And at least some small part of you has accepted that not everything can nor will ever fall together perfectly. I’m here to show you that the beautiful mess of being human isn’t really a mess at all.
